My friend.
I remember being in class and someone bringing up the phone call and then the message being played again.
"Hello, this is Hillary Clinton,"
"I heard what you said, I wanted to say that you are wrong.
You need to not harass the students of Long Island Middle School and if you do I am gonna have you arrested.
So don't you come near me or my son."
"And if you call again, I'll have you arrested again and you will go to jail.
Got that?"
Hillary got the phone receiver and hung it up.
I looked at all the other kids in the class.
No one knew what was going on.
"It was a prank call.
Like a telemarketer.
The FBI is involved now, "I said
"The FBI?
What the hell is going on?
Is it a nuclear attack?
Will the dinosaurs come back?
What's going on?"
I didn't know.
Hillary did not know.
She was beside herself.
She didn't even know if we were going to make it home.
The phone started to ring again.
Hillary jumped off the couch and picked it up.
"If you call again I'll have you arrested.
Don't you come near me or my son."
I didn't know what was going to happen and I didn't care.
We were out of there and I'm not really sure why Hillary was letting us go, I think she knew it was coming.
As soon as we walked out of the door, a police officer pulled up and asked us to sit in his car.
There was a man with us.
I did not know this man and he didn't know me either.
He introduced himself and his name was Anthony Ventre.
The man I was with, who I later found out was Anthony Ventre, told me to call him Joe.
Joe had a long black beard that he kept brushing off his face.
It was winter time and the trees were bare.
The snow was falling thickly and fast.
Hillary and I were confused about the state of the world but we didn't think we had anything to worry about.
"Joe, how did this happen?"
Hillary asked him.
"I don't know," Joe replied.
"They don't want to say."
"What do you mean?"
I asked him.
Joe didn't answer.
He didn't know either.
"Joe, how did it happen?"
Hillary asked again.
"How did it happen?
How did our world end?
We were supposed to grow old and die here."
Hillary started crying.
I was scared and confused.
I didn't understand what was going on.
"Why are we here?
I thought I grew up here."
"You were just a child when you died," Joe told me.
"You are so young."
Joe was looking at a photograph of a woman.
"I never got to know my mother," Hillary sobbed.
"I wanted to know who she was.
Is it true she died when I was born?"
I couldn't really understand what was going on.
Joe didn't understand either.
It was as if we were all going in circles.
I remembered Hillary had told me she worked at a diner.
"Where is that?"
I asked Joe.
"Is it far?
I don't really like driving that far to work."
"It's in my phone.
Do you know how to get there?"
I thought about it for a moment.
It was over an hour away by car.
"No, I don't really like driving that far.
What if I get lost?"
"You won't," Joe replied, as if he was very sure of himself.
He put the car into gear and pulled out of the driveway and down the road.
We drove and drove, farther and farther away.
Hillary had her head against the window.
I don't think she noticed where we were going.
The radio was playing something annoying.

Amigo.
"Hola, soy Hillary Clinton,"
No te acerques a mí o a mi hijo".
"No quieren decir".
"¿Qué quieres decir?"
Le pregunté.
Joe no respondió.
Él tampoco lo sabía.
"Joe, ¿cómo sucedió?"
Hillary volvió a preguntar.
"¿Como paso?
¿Cómo terminó nuestro mundo?
Se suponía que envejeceríamos y moriríamos aquí".
Hillary comenzó a llorar.
Estaba asustado y confundido.
"Nunca llegué a conocer a mi madre", sollozó Hillary.
"No, realmente no me gusta conducir tan lejos.
¿Qué pasa si me pierdo?"
yo no
