Here-

'Don't Give Up'

One day I woke up feeling dull and grey, like I had just been through some sort of trauma. The only problem was I didn't remember anything that happened the day before.

I got up out of my bed and made some breakfast. It was strangely bland. But after eating that fast meal I went outside to get the paper and check the mail. Empty. I figured there would be some junk mail but none of that. Only a note "Will he be okay?" I shrugged it off and went back inside to get cleaned up and dressed so I could get out and maybe wake up a little.

I started trying to think of something to do but my mind was blank. Then it hit me, I would go to the park and run then maybe go to a movie as there was plenty of them out that I wanted to see. I rushed to the park noticing that no one was outside. I tried to think of reasons but couldn't think of any good ones.

All I could think about was a fun night. Maybe the night before? Then something rushing at me fast. No matter what it was all very confusing. I headed to the park, because why not. I noticed another note. Strange. This one said "It was all my fault."

I flipped out my cheap phone and tried to call my friend but all I could hear was static and weird ticking sounds. "Hello?" I asked confusingly.

No answer then I heard a slight hum and a quiet early voice that said "C-can you hear this?" I was a little freaked out with all the weird crap going on.

"Yes I think so" I replied after a long pause.

"I think he can hear us!"

What was it talking about? Next thing I knew I heard a beep.

"Hello? Hello! What's going on?!" Whatever it was had just hung up.

I couldn't stop thinking about what it had said, "He can hear us."

I was so tired. I didn't feel like solving a mystery. I flipped on the T.V. and saw nothing but static. But I could make out something. It was barely understandable. The word wreck was repeated several times.

Sleep suddenly sounded terrible. Almost like it would be giving up.

I opened the door to investigate further. So I went up to a few houses and knocked then after a long silence I would ring the doorbell. After a few houses I saw a shadow move across the flat concrete road. What the hell was it? I looked around and noticed that the sky was getting dark from grey clouds. Thunder echoed, but it was strange, more like a beeping sound, and I knew I had to go inside.

After a while of sitting on the couch fiddling with the T.V. I heard whispers coming from upstairs. To be specific my bedroom. I jolted up the stairs and opened my door so quick that it left a dent in the wall. I saw a shadow on the wall that was directly from the middle of my bed. The room had a dark, sad feel to it and I could tell something was off.

There was a weird sound coming from an unknown source. It was a weird humming like you would hear from a hospital. But I could hear one thing that was barely understandable "He can't hear you." I walked over to my bed and just lied there. I felt warm and exhausted but I hated sleep. I didn't want to give up. But no matter how hard I fought the warm, calming feeling of sleep rushed over me.

Barely remembering anything from the night before I got up, slowly moving toward the door. I noticed a note stuck on the wall. It was scribbled like someone had rushed to get it finished. Picking it up the note read "Please wake up! I can't lose you. Please. Please. Just don't give up."

I didn't like what I was reading, what did it mean wake up? It seemed like I was awake. But I knew something was off. I felt my heart slow down. It wasn't painful. It was calming actually. That's when I heard the beeping. A slow constant beep. It became a long, drawn out noise. Then the sound of someone crying filled my ears. I had just given up...
