<p>Everyone says "every town in the world has its own urban legends", but I know that's wrong since mine doesn't at all. Though apparently there was a drive-by shooting here many years ago, but when I looked it up I found no results. </p>

<p>It's strange, because we've had numerous shooting around where I live, but there is never any media coverage what so ever. Why do the media try to cover it up so much? </p>

<p>I'm hearing about a Slender Man sighting now as well, oh wow! </p>

<p>Well, if you talk about urban legends you should be referring to weird and unexplainable stories, passed down in the form fireside stories, not just regular shootings. And don't worry, probably your town has some weird ass stories to tell and you just still haven't heard of them. It's a bump if you live in the city, where legend and folklore practically disappears </p>

<p>I had lived in a townhouse apartment complex. The place was known to have the leasing office catch on fire. There was also a rumor going around about this guy I met. His nickname was 'Crazy Josh' and he was said to go on killing sprees whenever it rained. </p><p>My neighborhood was nothing, but rented townhomes and aparments. I had my bike and my sister had our bikes stolen a few times. I remember searching these woods that surround a park that was in our neighborhood. Those woods are where I met Crazy Josh twice, so I nicknamed those woods 'The Devil Woods.' I lived there since my tweens to my junior year in high school. </p><p>I also found my bike in The Devil Woods' and the handle bars and seat had this green gunk in them. I threw it away. </p><p>My stepdad also recovered one of my stolen bikes in somebody's backyard. Apparently our fences were taken down due to being on the county's property. So, people could go into your backyard and steal anything, there was nothing but walls of wood protecting your patio. </p>

<p>Although I hate where I live there is a intriguing history in my area. There is a big building that is now a social service place for the elderly. Some time ago around the time governor Engler was in office, the building was an asylum. The whole construct actually included a township. </p><p>They did electric therapy and water therapy there. Needless to say some of the residents died and most were buried under the man-made lake near my house. The building was closed down (it is said due to financial reasons) and the top two floors are restricted to workers, residents and civilians. </p><p>That's about it. </p>

<p>Man, I am an idiot and I am cursed. Why did my caregiver have to be in a hit and run? Why do there have to be strangers coming at my door? </p>

<p>I'm gonna have to object to that statement about legends disappearing in big city areas. I live in the New York metropolitan area, but I've been further down into the city itself and I know the ins and outs of the streets like the back of my hand. Once in awhile you'll surely hear rumors about sewer 'gators, mutated rats, subway cults and the like. </p>

<p>Every place has it's own gossip, I suppose. </p>

<p>I live in a rather new neighborhood, so there isn't much legends because of not much strange stuff happens, at least not yet. I though I love spreading legends, of course not all of it is 100% factual but it tells a good story. </p>
