I'm pretty new, but I think the cringe has been here for some time.

To some degree it's obnoxious, and somewhat inexcusable, but I think it's most important that those who have an issue with it choose to uphold the standards that make the wiki what it should be.

Write, edit, review, critique. We're all in this together. Who knows, maybe the obsessed, pseudo lover, self inserting, JTK garbage spewer could grow into a valuable content creator one day.

The best we can do is be the change we want to see.

Simply complaining about the cringe, as much as it demonstrates that there are still some sane people left on the discussions pages, doesn't actually help to stop or counter it. I think that, at this point, we have acknowledged the fact that a lot of what is posted in discussions is pointless, low-effort content. We don't need to keep repeating it; that, in of itself, then becomes pointless, low-effort content. Contributing quality content in is the only way to drown out the vocal, embarrassing side of the wiki that people find so frustrating.
