Instead of a semicolon, just use a period, or a comma, OR a beautiful, beautiful em-dash —, which is perfect for all your pausing needs. It's believed there is a secret society and cult that is worshiping this monstrosity, as if it's like a god to them, or something else...

These things have been found in different parts of the world, and it's believed to be some form of an ancient cult that's dating back to ancient Greece. The abandoned societies of the cult was found in Guyana, Indonesia, Poland and Puerto Rico. There are only few societies of this cult left which were found in Canada, Brazil, Russia and potentially France.
