I think I need to speak up about something here. I had to delete a story that someone wrote; fellow admins can view it here. For the users that can't view it, it was a story directly related to the events yesterday through the fictitious "Slenderman's" point of view. Not only is this tasteless, I think it's repulsive that someone would try and use the event to stroke their own personal ego (and yes, it violates the "no spin-off" rule anyway, but that's beside the point).
And as most of you already know, this tragedy is national news. Hell, this news article even quoted Slosh's blog. Yesterday's news wasn't a game or some story on this site, folks. It was very real and people need someone to blame (our site). Thank God the girl is in recovery and will probably make it through.
Anyway, this isn't a voting thread. I just wanted to be clear that stories like this aren't appropriate or are the sort of attention this site wants, needs or will tolerate. I ask for you all to keep your eyes peeled for stories like this, and if spotted, let the admin team know so that we can handle it.
Thanks,

I've decided to throw in this info at the top here so it doesn't get lost in the mix. Helpful information concerning the victim and her family, and ways to show support. Thanks, ImGonnaBeThatGuy.

All right, good news, the fundraiser has been sorted out. The organizer is in contact with Waukesha police, it seems like they've been doing the necessary legwork to make this happen.
On top of that, they've mentioned the FAMILY'S REQUEST. This is, apparently, a direct quote from the family:
The family asked for "homemade hearts of paper, fabric and felted wool that are purple in color and infused with prayers, love and light."
"The hearts will blanket the walls of the girl's room to remind her that the power of love is greater than all else," the release said.
Hearts can be sent to: Hearts for Healing, P.O. Box 407, Waukesha, WI, 53187-0407.
If you can't donate, you might want to consider doing this. Spread the word.
The donation page is: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/waukesha-creepypasta-bring-her-back/186588
It also mentions a marathon that various CP narrators will be doing next Friday to raise money.
