Seriously, the story is just as bad as the first one, and ten times more boring. This wiki does not need a version of Jeff the Killer. We've moved passed that. The concept can never be done in a way that makes it....good.

I actually think that it can be done in a way that is good. Sadly, the only person who did something on that level (in my own opinion) cared so little about spelling that he did nothing.
You know what, I agree. Perhaps we need to get off of Jeff's origin story if we want to make him a better character.

Well, this actually turned into a decent discussion. It's over a month old, but... hey! Anything's possible. I actually like this idea. A sort of... revolution of Jeff. But it also bothers me, because, by his very nature from the original story, he is blander than bread that has not been toasted, or even cut, or even turned into bread. He is raw, seperated materials that, on their own, are not good. Exploring Jeff beyond his origin and trying to coax a better personality out of him through continuous good storytelling might produce a worthwhile result.
However, I'm curious if it even deserves the effort. Jeff obviously meant something to someone out there, and that's why his origin story got rebooted. What if trying to find who he is as a well-developed character simply reveals that he's even more fundamentally flawed than we thought? Is it better to view something like Jeff the Killer from a distance, because then we can't see the cracks at its very foundations? And what direction would we take the character? Any continuation of what he is in his current state would be a path down "i am teh d4rk nd edgy jef," and I don't know if that would be healthy for whatever redemption he may have coming for him.
We couldn't play him as a straight goof either. That would belong on the Trollpasta Wiki. After all, this is a site for scary stories, not satire. I wish I was willing to try and craft my own JtK and maybe find a perfect blend between scary and stupid that would still actually fit in here, but I'm just not that invested in Jeff anyway. I never thought he was a great character, and he probably never will be. Why did I type all this out? Oh my god, I'm tired.

Or, people could focus on writing something new and different instead of relying on an icon.
That's an even better idea.
Once more, for the people in the back that couldn't hear.
And I don't mean to disparage the OP or Jeff fans, but I see a lot of energy and effort wasted on trying to recapture or ride the fame of an icon or trope, whereas we should be encouraging writers to try bringing new ideas to the platform.
I agree completley. And don't worry, I actuall hate Jeff with ever fiber of my being. Why do you think I made this thread?
