I have seen postings of large novels in Historical Archive/PD. (Public domain works like Frankenstein and Dracula.) I would say 100,000 words is safe.

My last novel was like 200,000 words. So lets split the difference and say 500,000

Ok fair enough, besides I am starting out so it might not go over that. But if it does go over the limit I will be suprised.

Just because I find this kinda interesting from a technical perspective, the technical maximum size of an article within MediaWiki is defined by $wgMaxArticleSize, which Wikia have set to 2 048 KiB = 2 097 152 bytes. Assuming you only use ASCII, 1 byte = 1 character, so you have 2 097 152 characters to work with. The average length of a word is 5.1 characters, so you have approximately 400 000 words maximum. War and Peace has just under 600 000 words when translated to English, so I think you're pretty much certain to be okay.

Honestly though, if you're going to write something of that size it might be best to take it to an actual publisher rather than post it on the wiki, lol. Nothing wrong with posting long stories on the internet and all, but that seems like a lot of work for hardly and credit and no pay 

There's always the option of breaking the story up into different chapters via subpages.

I'm not sure you can do that.

Plus my story isn't in chapters. Though I can do it like volumes or something.
