I miss the chat so much! You have no idea.
When chat shut down, I was devastated; although I respect TPWC having looser rules, it has less chatters and isn't really the same.
Then, the worst thing to happen to the chat happened.
The chat split.
Two nights ago, the main chatters moved to !serious! SPWC, and Fatal even banned me saying "Go back to TPWC". He unbanned me afterwards, but the chat is still divided, leaving us fun-lovers stranded on what is now Noob Island.
I miss CPWC, because it was the perfect mixture of fun and seriousness, and I support its return at the end of August. :)

Oh but flame, the site isn't for fun! It's for literature and writing and reading and stuff like that. Also, it's a depression pit and causes a bunch of drama that leaks onto the main site and causes a mess.
All that stuff is true. The chat is not the main point of the wiki. But it never was. There were a bunch of users who used the wiki just for the chat, but why is that a bad thing? In my opinion, the wiki did not necessarily benefit from chat, but chat didn't do a lot of harm, either.
Depression pit? Why does everyone have to get emotionally attached to an online chat? Put together a bunch of people from different parts of the world, and you will always get drama. We've always been able to deal with the drama -I think. We have a forum for chat-related matters now, too. And I don't see why users will complain about moderators after the natural election. The chat has never really harmed the wiki. The activity on the wiki is the same as before.
Ahhh that's all I have to say. In a nutshell, I don't want chat to be shut down forever because it's a little box with all my friends in it. And all the friendships I hope to make. That, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who thinks so.
OMG, you said this perfectly. Thank you so much.
Admins, I know chat issues were leaked unto the site. And how this site isn't really meant for chatting. But really, we're a community. We're supposed to work things out, together. Not run away from the issue. We need to  settle this, not just shutdown chat and say "Oh more activity" well obviously there will be more, because there's no chat and people love this site. I bet you the people who have started to edit more since the chat shutdown were regular users on the chat too. And guess what, they do care about the site.
Now, chat is obviously the most important aspect of the site. But seriously, remember when pastas were so shitty, we changed it. Why can't we do more?
Over the course of the year I've been here, I've been seeing the stories getting sllitely better, but you know why that happened? Because we kept making a push at it. So why can't we do the same to get chat back up with less drama?
"Oh we've tryed that before, it failed."
Bullshit, you guys are admins, I know all of you guyd are tired of it all. But is running away from it and shutting it down gonna solve the problems.
And what's wrong with users just wanting to be here for chat? How would you know they are reading stories while they're in chat?Â
Chat is fun, like Wave said. if you can't understand how we feel, then you've haven't been having fun in chat, making a lot of friends with common interest, or haven't been here long enough.
And no matter what there will be drama, and since you say chat isn't an important aspect of this chat. Then let's just shutdown TPW chat and SPW chat.Â
I'm done, I've saying the same shit over and over again. But whats the use? You guys are admins, why take it from an everyday user who used too help a lot on this wiki?
So, no one has a right to complain about the content in chat, because at ONE TIME OR ANOTHER everyone has participated? You know what I never thought I had to explain? It's frequency. Make dumb, immature joke every once in awhile, sure. Who gives a shit? It doesn't kill anybody. When it keeps happening over and over and over and over and over again, when it's not a joke and it's the whole conversation. . .that's different. Gramm and Dinkleberg commented recently that our rules feel like they're made for 60-year-olds (Dinkleberg said it, Gramm supported, just in case anyone wants to split hairs).
That's not true. They're made for 12-year-olds who can't stop giggling at oh-so-naughty things or thinking they're cool because they talk about jerking off on the internet. It's when people don't stop and everybody's doing it that it becomes a problem. That's how it gets ruined for everybody.
But the admins have no right to complain or try to control it.
Alright, I think I should make clear what I really mean with my though right there (sorry for the late response btw).
When I said the chat rules are made for 60 year old people, it's obviously an exaggeration. By the way the rules are, I can deal with them, but some people can't.Â
The chat is composed mostly by teenagers and young adults, and even if you're the most polite person in the world, you will eventually say something wrong and get banned, and there's the point I was actually thinking about. I think banning a person without thinking about it is not fair, especially if it's not a 12 year old rebel.
However, it's fair banning a rebel if he already was before and didn't stop being one. These kind of people are the ones who bring us headaches.Â
These rebels will never be satisfied with the rules, in the way they are now. That's why I though making them less strict could be a solution, as well a way to give us a break.
Overall, it's nobody's fault for drama in the chat. I never saw a chat where nobody would sound depressive or childish at least once. So, if we keep the chat here again, we will have to deal with it and move on.
Thank you very much if you read this entire reply.
Shutting down chat will solve absolutly nothing.
You can't blame the users for the faults of the admins and mods, which, by the way, some of them should have never been givin rights to begin with due to being incapible of following the guidelines correctly and being too harsh, harsher than the guidelines say they ought to be.
Also, you people have a tendancy to misinterprate what drama really is! I deal with drama 24/7 and the stuff that happens in chat is not always drama, but you think it's all drama all the time when it really isn't.
From what I'm reading people are saying "It's the user's faults! It's the admin's fault! It's nobody's fault! It's everybody's fault!" Chat was a disadvantage to the site and that is all there is to it.
Sure, we're a community. We should work something out. We did. For the main site the chat has shutdown. The users have migrated to the other two wikis, most recently Spinpasta, which has the same basic rules Skelly has made as a draft if chat does happen to come back; which at this, albeit early, point, seems unlikely to happen. There are a few bumps here and there, but so far everything on all three sites has been better. Spinpasta's gotten an influx of actvity, as did Trollpasta and this site benefitted from being cleaner of drama and dick and fart jokes.
Quite frankly, how about we looks at the benefits and risks of not having versus having a chat and quit playing the blame game for who caused chat's problems? That seems like the more sensible approach to me.
Chat should be kept up on here. It not only provides entertainment and support to many users, but it could also provide some feedback on future creepypastas. For example, i know that some users on here will share their pasta in chat and ask for someone to read it and give some feedback so they can perfect their story and not just create another cliche filled trollpasta to fill up the site. Not to mention some of us only contact others in chat, as some people dont have skype.
Not to mention even if you say "Chat wuz killin deh wiki!" It didn't kill the wiki. Spambots and unresponsible users did. With chat shut down, it wont solve anything. It just dooms the wiki more, as a normal chat spammer would just join chat, spout some spam, and then get banned and they would leave. But with chat shut down, the spammers will most likley create spam forum topics and spam articles, and just fill the wiki with useless sh*t.
All these reasons dont even add up to the biggest reason we needed chat though.
We're a community, and a damn great one. With chat gone, our community is failing. The community with caring friends, supportive role models, (MooseJuice and Cleric, im looking at you two) and most of all, it helps us be at peace with ourselves. For example, when i first joined the chat, I absolutly hated bronies. I dispised them and hated them with all my heart. But as I stayed, and many of the great people in the community proved, I learned that bronies were just people. Ordinary people who like a show. Kind of like how I like Futurama. And this helped me. I was able to see the good in people, instead of focusing on the bad parts.
I'm going to say this again. Creepypasta Chat, as created by Clericofmadness, needs Chat back. Or else this isn't the same Creepypasta Wiki. And I can assure you, with chat gone, we aren't going to pull in as many users as we did.

I agree with all the posters above: BRING CHAT BACK!

Callie, that's what we ARE doing. You made the threads. This is a thread dedicated to the benefits, that's why we're not listing the bad points here.
