I don't think anyone who likes creepypasta started with it. What started your interest in spooky things?
Born in 1989, I was fortunate enough to grow up while "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" was aired on Nickelodeon. That definitely is what started it for me. On top of that, I would sneak out of bed late at night and catch glimpses of "Tales from the Crypt" and "The Twilight Zone". Even though I was hardly old enough to read at the time, I was thoroughly hooked.
From there, I would watch scary movies with my mom since she had found out I had been doing it without her permission, anyway. I would watch zombie movies with her pretty often.
As I got older, and being in school in the 90s, I was introduced to the Scholastic Book Fair. There, I found Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Needless to say, such books and related television shows captured my interest in my youth, and I continued to rummage around for anything else somewhat like it.
Although my tastes expanded to more mature tales, notably the works of H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, my interests have remained mostly the same. And of course being on the internet often naturally only drew me to Creepypasta, albeit a Pokemon one due to it being my favorite video game series. Needless to say, my taste in Creepypasta has drastically changed, as I tend to find most Pokepastas painfully cliche and cringeworthy.
That's why I'm here today. But enough about me. What started your interest in horror and eventually led you here?
