We don’t even know from where these second-hand creatures came. They gained a name though; Clones. Supposedly, they resemble the creature, just look a little more human. I haven’t even seen it yet. Whenever I try to glance at it, all I see is a black blur. No distinct features; just a black blur. Whatever it is, it’s not human. It moves way too fast, and it’s way too strong even to be related to a human. Some of us think it came from outer space, while others claim they heard of something similar occurring in the UK; about a black figure wreaking havoc in a remote town and another three human-shaped objects fighting against it. I think it’s a science experiment gone rogue.

We reached Manchester, New Hampshire, and it’s already in disarray. The streets are filled with Clones, and the Creature is gone. How are we to keep up with it when it can travel so fast? We’re taking a quick breather as we wait to hear where it’s heading. No sightings have occurred yet, so it’s just a waiting game now. The President is in the news now trying to explain what happened in Concord. They’re lies though. The only thing on television now are the events that occurred in Concord. They’re calling it “the worst event to occur on US soil since nine eleven.”

We’re heading to Allentown, Pennsylvania to continue chasing the monster. Supposedly, another three figures, which are moving at the same speed as the creature, were spotted in Concord a few hours ago. Another company is going to intercept these three figures. Maybe the stories about what occurred in the UK is valid; about the creature destroying that remote town. I kind of wish to talk to these three figures. Well, that’s assuming they are somewhat human and actually speak.

Feedback would be great

Just want to know if this story ties in well with the rest and somewhat explains what occurred when I jump to the future stories.

Day One - July 10th, 2007

We were called out to Concord, New Hampshire from Watervliet Arsenal Army Base, New York due to an unknown creature wreaking havoc. According to reports, it came from the sky. They're sending in two companies to assess the situation, with a follow up of at least one battalion depending on the situation. We're at least twenty to thirty miles away and not only can we see the smoke coming from the city, but a hollowed shriek can be heard as well.

The shrieks are getting louder now along with explosions. Reports are coming in that are saying that guns have little or no effect. It supposedly reached Concord nearly three hours ago, and it has already destroyed at least a quarter of Concord and killed over ten thousand people. They're beginning to doubt they can stop it with just two more companies and so am I.

We've touched base and are at the far south-west corner of Concord preparing to engage. They want us to try and flank it, catch it off guard and buy time while the tanks roll in. I think the plan is stupid. What are we going to do, shoot it to death? They want us to buy a minimum of twelve hours with two to three companies. It killed TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE IN THREE HOURS. HOW IN THE HELL ARE WE TO BUY TWELVE HOURS WITH LESS THAN FIVE HUNDRED MEN? NOT EVEN A COMPANY WILL BUY US THE TIME THEY'RE ASKING.

Day Two - July 11th, 2007

We managed to hold the creature here a little more than five hours... only to have it disappear on us the moment the tanks arrived. We lost over twenty thousand men in this fight, just for it to destroy Concord in those five hours and move to Manchester in thirty minutes. Orders are to follow it until it's dead. Like hell we're going to kill it. Not only are guns ineffective, the missiles from FIM-92s and the Hellfire missiles too. A few of our men stayed behind to kill off these other creatures the main creature created. FIM-92 missiles are effective with these smaller creatures, but guns are less efficient. They’re not as strong, nor as fast as the main being either. A few of them have been bagged and sent to a facility for further study, while the rest are being rounded up.

We don’t even know from where these second-hand creatures came. They gained a name though; Clones. Supposedly, they resemble the creature, just look a little more human. I haven’t even seen it yet. Day Four - July 13th, 2007

We touched down at Allentown about thirty minutes ago. The city is in ruins and Clones are all over the place. Orders are to rest here for the night and to clear out the Clones. There’s no way we can catch up to this creature; not with how fast it travels. They believe the creature will head south, so they’re going to fly us out to Washington, DC.

Day Five - July 14th, 2007

We’re on our way to Washington now. All you can see are the destroyed towns the creature went through. Clones are running rampant, and nearly the entire northeast coast is in ruins. Apparently, not only can the creature create Clones, but so can the Clones themselves. We haven’t heard anything back from the facility we sent those dead Clones to yet. All we can do now is either kill them or hold them back. Quarantine has been effect since the twelve, and a fence is being created to keep the Clones in. I don’t think the fence will hold though once it’s complete.

We touched down, and a perimeter is being made on the opposite side from where they think the creature will appear to try to keep it in the city.

Day Six - July 15th, 2007

I saw the creature. I don’t mean just a black blur, but the actual creature. It looked at me, with its red, piercing eyes, as it was slaughtering my team. I could tell it was enjoying itself; enjoying killing everything in its path. The darkness looming over it, as if it was the embodiment of death itself, swayed around the creature as it made its way slowly to me. The air felt cold, as if it was sucking the energy around it. I was frozen in fear; too scared to even shoot at it. It stopped, just inches away from my face. It looked at me with amusement, as its split tongue danced in front of me, its horns dripping blood, and its deep red eyes never blinking. It tilted its head, like what dogs do when confused, and left at such a high speed; the wind knocked me back. I sat there for a moment, only to waken from my trance at the sound of footsteps.

I looked up to see a demon with amber eyes, extending his arm towards me. The air was freezing; colder than what the creature made it feel. He was massive, standing at least seven feet, with muscles visible through his clothes; a dark red vest over a white button-up shirt, black pants and shoes.

“Are you alright?” he asked. I couldn’t speak. I was still petrified from my encounter with the creature.

“I need to go after Erebus. Lilith, stay behind and make sure he gets back safely. Find me once you finish,” he said as he looked at his companions and began running in the direction the creature left. He and another companion vanished a few meters out, leaving only a crater in his place.

“Come on, we need to get you out of here,” she said as she took my hand; it was cold.

Her brunette hair was in a bun, her clothes slightly torn. She was fighting the creature not too long ago. She was in complete black; black tee under a black zip-up sweater, black pants and shoes. Her light purple eyes were the only thing that drew my attention.

“What is that thing?” I asked after a few minutes of walking. She stayed quiet for a while, but I could tell she was thinking of a way to answer my question.

“We call it Erebus. Drake, the man you just saw, encountered it at least half a century ago. What's your name, by the way?” she asked.

“Caleb and wait, half a century? How is that possible?” I asked.

“I guess the easiest way to explain is that we’re immortal, even though that’s not completely true,” she said.

“Where did Erebus come from?” I asked.

“We don’t know. Drake first encountered it back in 1451. He thought he killed it back in 1452, but I guess it managed to regenerate.”

“What is Drake?” I asked.

“When I asked him, he said he was human. Then again, so was I until I encountered Erebus,” she said.

“Wait, so you guys are Clones?”

“No. We’re something else. I don’t even know what we are,” she responded.

“Hopefully you live through this endeavor,” she said as we were at least fifty feet away from camp.

“Good lu-,” I began to say, only to realize she was no longer there.

We’re moving out to Richmond, Virginia to follow Erebus. I kept my encounter with Drake’s group to myself as I gave my report.

Day Eight - July 17th, 2007

I can’t sleep. Every time I close my eyes, all I see are Erebus’ red eyes staring at me and my dead teammates. A few members of my new team are worried about me and are asking if I’m okay. I say I’m fine, as we continue moving from city to city.

We can’t stop Erebus. The only ones that can are the other three members we’re hunting down. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this thing has been around for five hundred years. Hell, it may even be older than that.

Day Nine - July 18th, 2007

I can't sleep anymore. Erebus is all I see when I close my eyes. Those red eyes.

Erebus

Day Ten - July 19th, 2007

They’re sending me to the Sutter Center for Psychiatry in Sacramento, Ca. In other words, they’re sending me home only to go to a mental institution. They believe the encounter with Erebus is slowly driving me insane, but who wouldn’t be after encountering it and lived?

November 17th, 2007

Erebus is here. I think it only let me go that day to find me and kill me for its game. Lilith, I'm sorry. I couldn't survive for as long as you wanted me to. Where are you though? Weren't you supposed to kill it? Weren't you goi

Lilith sighed as she closed the notebook. It was stained with blood; a few months old.

"Damn it, Caleb. You were supposed to survive a lot longer," she said.

"I'm sorry Caleb. We're trying though. We too lost a member of our group and we're going to kill it. I promise. Rest in peace, Caleb," she said.

"Lilith, let's go. Erebus left this place quite a while ago," said Drake.
