Would losing a kidney count?

I know the dictionary definition of dismemberment, but would a story in which someone lost a kidney or something, but is still walking around, fit here? For instance, would the old urban legend about someone waking up in an icy bath to find out that his kidneys had been stolen fit here? I ask because I have a story that might apply, but I wanted to make sure.
