  1. Abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate, or intimidate other Wikia users;
  2. Post or transmit any content that is obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane, or otherwise violates any law or right of any third party, or content that contains homophobia, ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, or encourages criminal conduct;
  3. Attempt to impersonate another user or person;
  4. Post any illegal or unauthorized content for any illegal or unauthorized purposes;
  5. Post or transmit any communication or solicitation designed or intended to obtain password, account, or private information from any Wikia user;
  6. Post, upload, transmit, share, or store unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, solicitations, "spam", or any other type of unauthorized solicitation;
  7. Solicit personal information from any user under the age of 18;
  8. Violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws and laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content); or
  9. Post advertisements or solicitations of business.

You further agree:

  1. To only use the services in a manner consistent with these Terms of Use and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  2. To maintain the confidentiality of any password(s) associated with your use of the Service;
  3. To notify the company immediately in case of any unauthorized use of your account;
  4. Not to intentionally block, remove, or otherwise obstruct the proper functioning and view of advertisements, and/or user interface and functionality by other users, including but not limited to changing or adding javascript or CSS changes to the Service that would prevent the proper display or function of advertisements and/or user interface and functionality;
  5.   8. Not to forge headers, or manipulate source identifiers or otherwise attempt to disguise the origin of any content made available via the Service;
  9. You will not: (I) take any action that imposes, or may impose in our sole discretion an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure; (II) interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Site or any activities conducted on the Site; or (III) bypass any measures we may use to prevent or restrict access to the Site, including robot exclusion headers; or
  10. Not to access, collect or store personal data about other users in connection with the prohibited conduct and activities described in this “User Conduct” section.

Accounts

  1. If you choose to register for membership or use an account on this wiki, you agree to maintain the security of your password and identification, and to be fully responsible for all use of your account and for any actions that take place using your account.
  2. Do not create or use multiple accounts to edit, chat, etc. You should only need one account. Any others will be indefinitely blocked, pursuant to this rule.
  3. Do not harass or attack other members, chats, wikis, or websites. Persons found to be vandalizing other pages on other wikis or perpetrating attacks on other wikis/sites may be blocked from editing indefinitely. We as a community take a stand against such behavior, and as such, do not and will not welcome it here.
  4. Roleplaying as fictional entities is absolutely prohibited. If your account is intended to be used to roleplay as a creepypasta character (i.e. Jeff the Killer, BEN, Funnymouth, etc.), it will be blocked indefinitely. This rule also extends to having Zalgo text in your username, even if you are not roleplaying as such.

For Admin/B-Crats

For Administrators

  1. Your job is to keep this site clear of disruption, spam, and low quality work.
  2. You are the law. You do not, however, make the laws. This is the job of the Bureaucrats. This keeps everyone in the loop about new rules and prevents them from being created on a whim. This being said, you are free to discuss proposed rule changes or improvements with a Bureaucrat at any time.
  3. You must be active. If you are going to be away for more than a month, please let another administrator or Bureaucrat know.

For Bureaucrats

  1. In addition to being a site administrator, your job is also to deal with internal matters and site issues, and serve as a community liaison.
  2. You are the law. You make the laws. However, you are not above the laws. All rule changes must be discussed with any other Bureaucrats and then the admins so that they know what to do.
  3. Before making major site changes, they must be discussed with the whole community. If it's something that would have an impact on everyone, it's only fair that they have a say in the matter. The polling system is a visible indication of the users' will, so do not just use the oppose/support method on the forums.
  4. You must be active. If you are going to be away for more than a month, please let an administrator or Bureaucrat know.

Inactivity Policy

These rules are supposed to be lenient, because all edits/work on the wiki is voluntary. However, you are expected to do something, as a user with extended rights should. This guideline should make it crystal-clear of what is expected.

After 6 months of inactivity, rights will be taken. If the admin returns within the next 3 months, they can ask for their rights back. If an admin announces a long period of inactivity, this may be extended.

Note: it cannot be stated enough that Admins need to be active. Six months is enough time. Rights may be returned by request in the next 3 months. After that, the user will have to reapply for administrator.

Short editing, lurking around the wiki, and generally not doing much of anything may count as inactivity. The admin in question can receive warning of this, and the inactivity deadline may be extended depending on the circumstances.

General Rules

  1. As an editor, you should make worthwhile changes to pages. You should also help other users find their way, and when possible, assist the admins in locating pages that either need not be on here or that have been vandalized.
  2. Do not make any number of pointless edits to gain badges and/or to inflate your edit count. This includes making useful changes in incremental amounts.
  3. If you have a suggestion for a new category or rule, please contact an admin or Bureaucrat for discussion.
  4. There is absolutely no reason to vandalize any page. Vandalism only serves to waste YOUR time and get you a ban. There are no excuses and no exceptions to this rule.
  5. Do not harass, intimidate, threaten, or express an interest in harming other users in any way/shape/form anywhere on this site.
  6. Plagiarism will not be tolerated here. You will be banned if you are found to be passing off other people's work as your own. Remember that it is something you must willfully commit with intent to deceive. Homages and references to other works are fine, but not theft.
  7. Do not message people offensive and/or sexual material.
  8. Do not post screamer links, images, or videos. It's not funny to anyone, and it's old.
  9. Trollpastas should be posted on the Trollpasta Wiki.
  10. Some content on this site may not be suitable for viewers of all ages. As such, users on the site should be THIRTEEN (13) years of age or older. This is the minimum age for signing up for an account on Fandom, and users who claim to be younger may be banned until such time that they would conceivably be 13.
  11. Viewer discretion is advised. We are not responsible for any nightmares, loss of sleep, or other mental effects you might suffer from reading the stories contained on this site. We advise against attempting any ritual on the site, and are also not responsible for any loss of sanity, eternal damnation, hauntings, or imprisonment in alternate dimensions/realities/temporal locations that may occur as a result of a ritual.
  12. Posting stories written by other authors is only allowed with their permission (that you are able to back-up with a screencap, copy of an email, or other means of proving they allow for their story to be shared here), or if their works are in the public domain and fit the criteria of being in the horror genre.
  13. As per (6) and (12), AI-generated articles are banned from the site. As the relevant technology is still new, we expect the vetting process to be a bit imprecise, but we adhere firmly that the concept of plagiarism extends to claiming penmanship over something you did not write yourself.

Disclaimer

In the event you post via any means a story, page, or blog post about a subject matter that is determined, at an admin's discretion, to be 1) in a highly clichéd genre/category/subject and 2) poorly written, clichéd, generic, or of generally poor quality, then the admins are free at their discretion to delete the page at any time without warning.

This wiki is not responsible or liable for any loss of data or stories that happen on this site for any reason or in any manner they may occur.

IMPORTANT COPYRIGHT NOTICE

Although most content is licensed under CC-BY-SA, not all content falls under this license. Please pay careful attention to the licensing of all stories. We are not responsible for damages, etc. that may arise from mishandling of licensing. When in doubt, contact the author.

Content that is not in the public domain or under a CC0 license must have attribution if used in videos or other media. This is not optional under any other Creative Commons license. That is copyright infringement.
