Just a question[]
At the risk of sounding rude, I would like to know why you guys can't hire chat/comment mods, who can police the commments section in you guys' absence.
Oh, and I don't want you guys to think I'm offering myself up for the position, because I know I'd make the worst moderator for anything ever. Mesouse (talk) 09:18, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
- We don't hire people - all of our staff (bureaucrats, admins, rollbacks, thread mods) are volunteers. No-one gets paid to work on this 'site.
- We don't have chat, so we don't need chat mods. Despite what this page says, we're generally quite good at patrolling comments, so there's no real need for comment mods. Also, if we want to add new rights, we have to go through Wikia staff & show that there is a clear need for the new rights, which is more trouble than it's worth.
- If users see a comment that violates the rules, they can report it to any one of us via our talk pages, there's generally someone online who can take care of it.
