something in the guest room[]
It was late august when I first set up the security cameras that are in every room in my house. It was something I had been meaning to do for a while but had put on hold since I was too busy at my job at the post office, and just too exhausted to do it when I got home. A minor reason was when my neighbor got robbed that made me finally go through the process, but it was mostly because of the things that were happening around my old house. it started with the small things you would expect from an old house, lights flickering, pipes creaking, but then it got more severe.
Random holes started appearing in the walls, I saw a tall dark figure in the doorways, and then of course, there was the groaning.
Every night when I was lying in bed it would happen, this loud, animalistic groaning from the guest bedroom, but every time I checked, there was nothing in the room. But after I got the cameras, I finally knew why.
I won’t get into detail about the first few nights after I installed the cameras, mostly because nothing really happened, but I will tell you about a few key times when something happened. The first time was also the first time I had called the cops. I was checking the cameras, specifically the one in the guest bedroom, and there, right above the bed was a message written in some dark, almost black liquid. “LEAVE THIS PLACE”
The police did a full search in my house, but found nothing. No stranger, no source of the fluid, and perhaps more disturbingly, no evidence of somebody coming in or out of the room before them. That night, the groaning began to be interrupted by chuckling. The second time was on a trip to Italy when I got an alert from the cameras. There was somebody in the house. I frantically searched through the cameras, trying to find some sign of an intruder, some sign that SOMEONE had gotten into my house, but there was nobody. The notifications continued the rest of the week. The third incident was the one that made me move out, and the first time that… thing appeared.
It was late, around twelve to eleven o’clock when I received the notification. I checked my laptop, and almost immediately slammed it shut. There were bugs covering the camera. I held my chest, I couldn’t breathe, and in that state of shock I stayed for a few moments. slowly, I opened up the laptop. The screen was now cracked, but I didn’t care about that. The thing I cared about was the man, pointing at the camera. The mans mouth was impossibly wide open, showing the cracked and missing teeth that lined its mouth , and its eyes had fallen out of its sockets, revealing the thousands of bugs and bits of human remains through its fabric thin skin. Its hands were covered in that black liquid, and it had apparently written another message on the wall: “LEAVE.”
