Fantastic pasta! Good writing, I like how you confused the reader, so we didn't have any idea what was going on, either. However, in the end, it made a bit more sense, and you left us with something great to think about and develop our own ending. My only real complaint is I think you gave too big of a hint when the Mother tried explaining Button Day. It immediately clicked in my head, and I can imagine it did the same for pretty much anyone who read it. Perhaps you could change the wording so it's less obvious? What I don't get is how come the girl had no idea about what button day was? Everyone else knew. If that is the way that world worked, wouldn't she have known about it? Did she have some type of selective memory loss that only affected memories of what button day was? Author help out here please.
