Not a bad story. I suppose it's supposed to creep people out of asking random strangers on the road for a lift, since some of them are "corrupted" by these objects or something. But just one thing - if these people were the sort that killed strange looking hitchikers to begin with, wouldn't that have been enough of a reason to steer clear of them?
