If I were you, I'd remove the photo. It's an awesome story and it gave me the chills, but because of the photo, I already knew it was an eye before reading the last sentence. That's a pitty.

I love the twist when he just sees red. I think the small wait before he realizes what is was is crucial to the terrifying shock at the end, when he realizes she was looking directly at him, and he was looking right into her eye.
