As you explored through the cabinets of you old childhood home, your fingers brushed up against something warm and metallic.

Pulling it out, you found it was a brass pocket watch of Victorian style. Still ticking away rhythmically to the beat of its own drum.

The time on the face, you realised is inconsistent, but any attempt to twist the dials resulted in no change to the hands on the front.

Believing that you may be able to make a quick buck off of the antique, you pocketed it.

Only you forgot to notice the shadow moving underneath the watch's face.
