The girl had woken abruptly, as if someone had shaken her awake. Of course, there was no one there, but she despised it all the same. It took her a couple of minutes to realize she was laying in the middle of a white room with no one in sight. She couldn't remember how she got there.
As she looked around, she got the feeling there was something terribly wrong. She sat up, and the looked at the ground. How she hadn't spotted it before, she didn't know, but there was no white floor to match the white room. Covering the entire floor was a pool of blood only a few inches deep, and there were bodies face down in many places. She started to cry, afraid and not sure what to do. She lifted a hand to wipe away the tears, only to see that it wasn't a hand at all. It was a thick, knobbly claw.
Jolting to her feet she noticed a large window that several scientists were sitting behind. Trying not to slip in the blood, she ran towards it. Her cautiousness was in vain, for she had gone only a few feet when she slipped and landed on her back in the blood. She stared at the ceiling, wanting answers, but the lights just slowly faded out, and she could see no more.
