Imagine you write an horror story. It takes a lot of time, you put your best ideas in it, you check if there are still some mistakes and when you are ready, you publish it.
Few minutes pass, you refresh the page to see if you have some positive comments but instead, you have this generic page telling you that your story has been deleted for not matching the site's "quality standards"
You contact the admin who deleted your story, to ask what was wrong. There are few options: -there was one insignificant mistake no one else noticed (even if you put your story on the "writer's workshop" where people help you to spot the mistakes) -a virgule was misplaced -your premise isn't 100% original (you wanted to write a story about a dog? Too bad, there is already one on the site) -fuck you
As you can see, all appeals (on this date) were denied.
But there is worse! You revised your copy, spotted few mistakes, corrected them,... Then you ask for help on the workshop. One moderator says "No mistake spotted, you are good to go. Good story btw" You make a deletion appeal with a link to your new version and.... Immediately denied with no reason given.
Probably one admin didn't like your story, it might be perfectly written but you know, he recently lost his job, got dumped, was drunk... so he takes revenge by denying your appeal because he simply can (the site warns the users: "Admins are not obligated to give a reason for overturning an appeal")
Now, if your story isn't 100% original, you have no chance to get it back. They will ask you to improve your story and when it's done, your deletion appeal will be denied. One of my stories has been deleted because there already was a story with a scarecrow. The stories were completely different, but the main theme, the scarecrow, was "déjà vu".
But you are a good writer, you bypass all this shit: no mistake, 100% original premise,... Your story is accepted, you get good reviews from the users. Weeks pass and... your story has been deleted. You (reasonably) wonder "what the fuck is wrong this time?" and contact the admin who deleted your story. His reason is "your story didn't match our quality standards anymore"
What's next? Well, you can tell these condescending pricks to shove their "quality standards" up their ass (side way of course) and go on some other creepypasta site that will recognize your true talent.
This sounds like butthurt banter. It's got a point, though. I think the "standards" are very restrictive. Writing is an art form and the admins here treat it more like something else. It gives a very narrow, restricting pathway for the artist to make anything, and it changes art from "I made this for me, from my heart" to "I made this so the admins will think its worthy" and thats what sucks about the creepypasta sites.
I understand that you had your story deleted; it sucks. I think everyone one this site, including the admins who weren't involved with the site from the start, had had something deleted. It is a fact of being a writer, you will get a lot more rejections then approvals, and if you cannot meet the QS for this site than you may want to polish up your writing prowess before complaining about how harsh the QS are.
Now Mortaest and and Novocainee, both of you need to get into reality with writing, if you think that the QS are hard then you have no idea what it is like to really try and get published. A mag, or book, would never accept most of the stories on this site, I know some of my failed stories for mags have found there home here. So to write you should write for you story to be read, because if you write from your heart, which is great, but it isn't read, then you should just be keeping a diary.
Other then that, you will need to work to make your story better, don't come here and bitch about your sub-par story being deleted. Make a story that is so good no one would question how good it is. You point out stories that are obviously trolls, like that was going to prove your story is good. That alone proves that the admins were most likely correct in deleting your post.
Conserve your energy by not writing things like this and put it to making a good story.

If you are writing a story for yourself and yourself only, why are you posting it on the wiki for others to read?
Also, I don't see how the QS restrict anyone artistically. Unless you are saying bad grammar, spelling, plot, vocabulary etc. is valuable as art.
Naw, man. That's not what I meant. I was trying to comment on the part where stories get deleted for having similar themes to other stories. Spelling, plot, vocab etc is very important and is a standard that should obviously be upheld.
Stories are deleted when they are similar to other stories because it is not the goal of the site to have all the stories be rehashings of each other. It creates a disconnect when reading a story with the same ideas and events as another story and other stories come to mind when reading.

Likely for this line: "Those were trollpastas you dumbass." as it's a violation of the commenting policy (even if the OP made a ridiculous choice in using troll pastas as a reason why the wiki is declining in quality).
My story got deleted because they assumed the "cop-out" ending was really a cop out when it was actually meant to be part of the fourth wall breaking. Any admin who dealt with my story and me will know what I mean. I kept trying to argue the point but it still was deleted.
If a story has bad grammar, fine, do something but don't delete it! Help fix it and get it out there! I know you lot do that when it is minor but if it is a lot, just put the effort in to help out.
If an idea needs "fleshing out", don't delete it, let people read it and let it reflect on the author; stop assuming that your reputation as a website is on the line because of some stories that do not meet your quality standards. Give the readers some credit. As he said, a lot of effort goes into these stories and to have them shut down because of the way the author has written it is wrong!
Stop this iconoclasm in the CreepyPasta community. Write and let write! And I have little doubt that one of the admin will see this and either delete it or ban me. Because wiping out those who argue against the leaders is totally not what dictators do in Nazi Germany or North Korea.
