  • How goes it! My name is creepyreadings and I am trying to grow my YouTube channel. I narrate scary stories like the many creepypastas you all read, write and enjoy. I am just starting out so my channel is completely unknown, but I am working hard to change that. I would appreciate it if you took some time to check out my channel and listen to a few of my videos. I'm looking to make my channel more well known. I was thinking that I could even read some of your stories, seeing as how you all are my target audience! I have included the link to my channel at the end of this post. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and hopefully check out and subscribe to the creepyreadings YouTube page!

    • I hope that good things will happen to your channel. However, the market for that sort of thing is dominated by other people. My advice is one of two things.

      A. Try to do something no one else has ever done with creepy stories. Find out what every other Youtuber is doing and don't do that.

      B. Quickly read all of the new creepy stories so that you're the best at what you are doing. Making a monopoly in that way will cause people to look to you instead of someone else.

However, these are just suggestions. You can do anything that you want.

    • Squidmanescape has given some good advice, but he is correct. You are one little fish swimming in a massive sea and you will need to pull off some original ideas to get known.

My advice is to get your friends and family to subscribe and try to get your views up. If you are a good drawer, or know someone who is, it might be a good idea to draw up a story-board kind of slideshow on each story. As you narrate the pasta, the images could change and show key events from the story. It might also be worth getting different people to read for you, if you are a good editor. For example, having a story written in third person would be amazing if you narrated, and your friends voice acted the dialogue of the different characters.

I'm not sure how effective these ideas would be, as I am not a youtuber. Just throwing out some ideas for you!

      A_O.

    • Good luck, although, there is a hell of a lot of competion. There are several narrators, the most notable is Mr. Creepy Pasta. Although he is the least of your worries, you will have to compete with the smaller creepypasta narrators. You probably won't make it to the big leagues. But if your lucky you might get a medium size following.

    • I recommend adding humorous quips to the introduction and the end.  It hooks people in and gets them all giddy, and unprepared for the horror that's about to come.

Also, instead of just zooming on one static image, build the atmosphere by adding multiple creepy images, and even a mini-video or so if it's possible.  Music helps too.

Those are just my opinions, but if it helps you than great!  Good luck.

(Here's some creepy music you could use:)

It's probably going to be hard to top other narrators on Youtube since they have pretty much done everything under the sun.

Oh. But there are things that don't require narrating that I've never seen, like researching the science behind them, or the mythology, or the people. Maybe people have done those things; I cannot listen to them talk to some extent. But I hope that there still are things that people can do.

Dude, researching the science or mythology behind certain pastas would be great! I'd definetely subscribe to that.

Thank you for thinking that my ideas were good. I wasn't sure that they were, because I pretty much took them from the basic synopses of gaming channels.

Meh. Who cares where the idea came from as long as A: it's good, and B: if you stole it, you credit who you stole it from. this would be great, though.

    • Exactly, give credit to where credit is due.

    • Maybe I could do that, if I ever made such a thing. I could call the channel "Game Theory but for Creepypasta".

You could call it A Creep's Idea.

      Or maybe...

      Just For Creeps

      It sounds better "Creepy Freaky!"

    • Maybe I could just call the channel "Squidmanescape" because:

      a) "Squidman's Escape" is a set made with LEGO's bricks and so people might accidentally come to my channel while looking for it

      b) it sounds like Hoodohoodlumsrevenge, which would probably be the closest channel in theory to what I would be doing in that case

and c) It's rather close to my username here.

May I ask what the name of said channel is?

That might be good to know.
