  • I need some advice, I'm trying to write a Video Game creepypasta about a girl who gets a 'Project Diva' fan game that was made by her friend, everything was going well until the game gets updated and gets a new feature. Any advice? Any cliches i need to avoid? things you'd like to see?

    • Spinoffs aren't good candidates for publishing. However you might get somewhere if you based the story around a game that doesn't exist, or avoid a cliche prompt altogether https://creepypasta.fandom.com/wiki/Creepypasta_Wiki:Spinoffs?useskin=oasis

    • oh, this isn't a spinoff or a haunted game pasta. I think it'd be something rather diffrent. it's an original story. although it's based of off a real game, it's notbased of off another pasta

      Thats what a spinoff is classified as, basically anything based off a real franchise. You can theoretically get it published with a spin off appeal - which also requires making sure your story is totally grammar checked, up to Quality Standards and the hardest part, being actually scary.

      A big part of why game pastas are banned are because they all follow the same format. They also may not be scary for people who have no idea about the franchise.

      I didn’t make the rules btw, rather explaining why it might be easier if you try another prompt. You can still try your original idea but you will have to jump through a few obstacles to get it published. Don’t be discouraged if it does: all you need to do is tinker around the workshop and not be afraid to ask for help. 8}
