Constructive Criticism

I've noticed lately on the wiki that a lot of people have been awfully harsh in the comments of other people's work. Now, I know tough love is a thing, and I know it generally works, but in my experience, in order for people to actually hear you out with this method, you must be someone they actually know.

Now, when I first started writing creepypastas, I was fresh into the horror genre. I didn't know much about what truly scared people, didn't know what to expect really, but I pushed through my fear and released a story of mine to the public for the first time. Of course it was ripped to shreds, completely shatted on... but the people that did give me feedback provided advice which in turn improved my writing within the horror genre. Mind …

Writer's Lounge Part 3: An Interview with Banningk1979

Hello, everyone. I am GreyOwl, and I was given the amazing opportunity to conduct November's Writer's Lounge interview. Being that my birthday resides on thanksgiving this year, I decided why not highlight to you all someone that creates the good stuff(ing). With stories filled with unpleasant heat, unimaginable suffering, undying love, and karma in full effect, not even an apple bobbing could cool down the aftershock of them once read.

So, without further adue, I want to introduce someone that provides this site with fresh, innovative ideas that are sure to have you looking at your own dog with questioning eyes. The man of the hour, Banningk1979!

GreyOwl: So, let me start off by asking how you are doing? I don't know about you, but it's bee…

Mini Vacation

I sort of felt obligated to inform you all of my less than frequent activity on the site. Though I do make sure I do something every single day, it's been more of a chore than it used to. These past few weeks have been probably the most liberating of my life. I have lived with a fear that disabled me from doing anything or going anywhere. I was and still am terrified of driving. Being 21 and having no drivers license, really got under my skin. Though I've excelled at other things such as school, I always felt like a complete idiot because a sixteen year old could easily hop into a car and drive off into the world. So, I decided enough was enough last month. My mom, unbeknownst to me, bought me a car for my upcoming birthday, and I've been …

Life's mysteries

So, because this is a site packed full of creative minds, I figured this was the place for me to go with this frustrating question. Before I ask, I want to provide everyone with a bit of background info pertaining to my life (at least the educational aspects). Well, I became one of the countless people within this world that obtained a degree in a subject solely for the monetary benefit/approval of my family. From early on, I was sort of sheltered from the world and everyone in my family had these extremely high expectations of me that I met quite easily, but sacrificed my own personal dreams and desires to fulfill. I graduated highschool early with honors, received valedictorian bragging rights (boring, I know), and I obtained the pharmac…

Book of short stories (suggestions)

So I've always been a bookworm, but recently I've been a little weary of trying out new books. I am obviously a fan of horror, psychological thrillers, and sometimes dramas, but I can't seem to find anything that fall under those categories that aren't some kind of love story (sorry, I do not like love stories.) So, getting to the point, I would love some suggestions that are great reads... any recommendations?
