This is by no means a final goodbye.
Just thought I'd make a little update on my current situation.
Straight to the point, I guess.
I'm going to take a little hiatus from this site. Not a full one, you can still expect to see me making dick jokes in comments, and things like that, but I won't be on as frequently. As well as that, I'm going to take a break from reviewing stories on the workshop, as well as editing them on the site. Lately I've found doing these things to be more of a chore than they used to be. I don't really enjoy them anymore. I don't know, maybe I'm burnt out, but screw it, I've stopped liking them.
Another reason I'm going to quit the Edits & Reviews portion of my time here is that I've noticed they've begun to pull me away from what I first came here to do - write. Now, I'm a slow writer. I'll mull over every phrase I use, making sure it fits the situation I've used it for. It'll sometimes take me a week to write a 1500 word story when editing on here, and I'd like to give more stories to the site sooner rather than later (I'm formulating a series idea currently). This site has been invaluable to my writing due to its QS and Workshop, both of which forced me to become better, but I need to take a break.
I also would like to focus a little more on my art. I've been getting further and further away from it the more time I spend trying to edit stories here, and I would love to do more with it. Maybe illustrate one of my stories or draw caricatures of people or something. Anyway, I'd just like to do more with it.
So, yeah. I'm going to take a short break from editing and reviewing stories (probably until January's over) and then get back to the site soon enough.
TL, DR: Read it, you lazy dick. It's not that long.
Irony in this is, I'm spending more time writing this that could be spent on a story of mine.
Addendum: The only reason I made this was so I could tell myself that it was okay if I didn't make ten edits a day, or review three or four stories on the workshop every week. I love this place, but I feel like I'm being overactive.
Recent change: I'm back to editing pretty much full-time (though I have stopped forcing myself when I don't want to), and am ready to go.
