In January SyFy cancelled their miniseries Channel Zero after only four seasons with a total of twenty-four episodes.

Although I only watched the first season, I really don't care that they cancelled it. I know that might not seem fair, but I doubt the other seasons were any better. Since the first season is the only one I actually watched, it is what I am going to talk about on this page.

To begin with, it wasn't a very good adaptation. I know you can't stretch a story that takes five minutes to read and takes place in a chatroom into six episodes, but the least they could have done was try to stick the plot and include Candle Cove more. Instead of going with the boring plot they went with they could have somehow combined the original story with some of the fan sequels (of course they would have had to work out the just static/real show conflict).

They were obviously using Candle Cove as a way to lure viewers into watching. Throughout those six episodes we probably got about half of a minute's worth of actual "footage" of the show, and the title "Candle Cove" was only thrown around here and there.

I remember waiting months for it to air. I also remember considering quitting after only the second episode.

As unlikely as it seems, I hope that someday we get a good television or film adaptation of Creepypastas.
