So one day a couple weeks ago I was bored out of my skull. I had nothing to do except sit around.

How did I finally decide to spend my time? Why, trying out the Wayback Machine, of course, that awesome Internet archive place where you can find practically anything!

It was great. I looked up a bunch of stupid websites like Neopets (couldn't find it, unfortunately), with a few cool ones sprinkled in.

Welcome to Youtube: the Dating Site!

Youtube was a dating site.

All the proof you need.

My, how this site has changed.

Lookit what I found.

I can't help but notice the orange.

Nintendo...

From 1996, by-the-by.

Then, the inevitable.

Scared me half to death it did!

It's terrible. It's also SEGA. Another 1996'er.

This particular one was different, though, because almost as soon as I opened it the sound clip "sega.aif" downloaded. (P.S., I hate doing P.S. thingies, but here's the link if you wanna check it out: Sega Online - Wayback Machine.)

Now, that in its own right is freaky, and at the time I thought I'd gotten a virus, but it was a totally safe audio file. I opened it, hit the "Play" button, and...

"SEGA!"

A guy screamed SEGA. One problem: the volume button on my computer had been cranked to 100% without me realizing ahead of time, and I had headphones in. Try to imagine the spook I got. Nothing wrong with the file, just a mistake on my part.

Has anything like this happened to you, or was it only me? Have you taken a trip in the Wayback Machine, too?

Finally, did you check out the website?
