It was the middle of the winter, and I was just about to get up for bed. Suddenly, I hear a noise from the radio. "School is cancelled!" I yelped, as I heard about the snow day. Instead of sleeping in I got on layers of winter clothes, jackets, winter pants, you name it. I was so excited to play outside in the snow.

I rolled up some snowballs, three to be exact. I made sure the bottom one was the biggest, and the top one was the smallest. I put them on top of one another, making a snowman position. I pulled out unnecessary buttons from all around my inside jacket, and placed them on the middle snowball. After a carrot, and a few more buttons, I finished my snowman! My dad added his top hat to it to make my snowman fully complete.

The next day, school was still cancelled, since the snow hadn't melted from yesterday. I did the exact same thing, once more. I got my all my winter things, and headed outside. Although, my snowman somehow disappeared. I saw the exact same snowman I made yesterday in my neighbor's yard.

"Did you steal my snowman?"

"No, leave me alone."

So then again, I made another snowman but I didn't have any more buttons. I hurried inside the house for buttons, but when I came back outside my second snowman was in my neighbor's yard again.

"Did you steal my snowman?"

"No, leave me alone."

I was weary, and not in the mood to make a third snowman. I went inside to have a cup of hot cocoa, and sleep on the couch, with only one disruption.

Knock Knock.

Knock Knock.

Knock Knock, let me in.

I tugged on the door handle, it turns out it was those same neighbors again. They were holding a clump of snow. I was confused, until they dumped the snow on me, and started running around in my house. As soon as I got up, all the snow melted. I saw no neighbors, and the door closed behind me. Outside of the front door, I saw my second snowman. I heard a clinking noise, and saw that my first snowman was right behind me.

Snowmen filled up my front yard, and my back yard. Even though I didn't make them, I pretended I did so my parents wouldn't freak out.

I have not seen my neighbors in their house, and at night I still hear those clinking noises, and sometimes during the day I hear bells. Coming from my room, or outside. No matter how many times I get rid of all the snowmen, they somehow appear again. I recently found bells hidden inside of the snowmen. Maybe that's what made the "clinking" noises. It's like my neighbors and snowmen have become...winter beasts... my father told me about winter beasts when I was young. He explained these beasts were suppose to disguise as humans, and duplicate snowmen wherever they please. Of course I believed him since I was young, and didn't know any better. Five years after he told me the story, I stopped believing it. I was too frightened to talk to my neighbors, and even if I wanted too, I couldn't, because the neighbors still weren't at their house. Dang. The worst part is, the snow was starting to melt. The weird part is, the snowmen didn't. I checked ten times, and they were for sure made of snow. Whenever I got rid of the snowmen, they always came back. I knew my neighbors had to be winter beasts, I guess I was a winter beast believer once more.

It's been a few days now, and my neighbors still haven't returned to their home. I decided to investigate.

It was a cold Tuesday morning, and after school and homework, I decided to take a sneak-peek inside my neighbor's window. I wasn't sure if this was legal, but I had to try to get to the bottom of this. Nothing was quite suspicious inside their house when I looked. Then, I discovered a new addition in the living room window; a plant. It wasn't like a plant was suspicious, but it said that the plant was delivered outside of their home just yesterday. "How would they be able to bring the plant inside their house if they were gone?" Weird. I saw that all this information on a label on the plant. Suddenly, I heard a "bang!" sound coming from the kitchen. Must have been a pot, or something like that. But then I saw something...

I saw a live snowman come from the kitchen, and into the living room. It sat in a chair, and looked directly at me, through it's rugged and uneven smile.
